A Racoon's Protector I by Photos-By-Michelle A Racoon's Protector I by Photos-By-Michelle
I was at my friends house and they have rescued three baby racoons, these racoons have been raised around their pets, this is one of the racoons with their English Setter "Bug".

As I got near the raccoon, the raccoon ran to the dog and wrapped his arms around it as to be protected from me.

They are cute, but I fear rabies too much to want to be around them much.

I wish I had a chance to capture the dog facing forward .. but I love the racoon, he didn't go anywhere without the dog. They are best friends.

Yes it would have been nice to see the doggies face, but then we wouldn't have seen the Raccoons hand..paw ? cuddling the dog, or his wonderful expression :)
Either way, I think this is a stunning shot, I absolutely love it :heart:

Okay... do these people realize how big the raccoons are going to get, and how rough they can be when they are adults? Do they have a license to care for them? It IS against the law to keep raccoons as pets :/

Either way, good picture.

They are both practicing vetinarians and are not keeping them as pets, their mom was killed they are only nurturing them until they are ready to be released in the wild. They live out in a wooded area with about 50-100 acres so they roam wherever they want to go.

Yep it was so adorable to see them feeding them when they were only a week old with baby bottles, because they had no momma.

Kinda, you get them fixed and descented, basicly two sets of glands for the price of one. :D I dunno how it is for skunks, but you cant buy a ferret that hasn't been fixed & descented unless you area liceneced breeder.
